Amityville Horror House, a notorious haunt for decades, has been sold for $2.5 million, the sale announced Tuesday.

The iconic house in Amity was built in 1899 and is regarded by locals as one of the most haunted in the country.

The sale of the property is part of a $3.5 billion plan to revitalise Amity and add up to 500 jobs.

Owner Bob and Kathy Amity are currently working on their first big project.

“It’s going to be an awesome place to live, to have an apartment, a new place to work, it’s going be an amazing place,” Kathy Amty said.

“And the house that started it all, so many people have come from around the world to come here, they’ve come from all over the world.”

Bob and Kathy say their daughter, who was a big part of the history of Amity, is planning to start a new life in the UK.

They are currently still looking for a new location.

The Amity house was built to hold about 1,000 people, including family members.

Bob and his wife Kathy have lived in the house since 1995 and say they are not going anywhere.

“This house is going to stay here for a long time, and it will be there for generations to come,” Kathy said.
