It’s time to put the country house in the closet

I was born in Florida and my family is the only one I know.

When I was a child, the country was the dominant musical genre and we had the best records, but as I grew older, I realized that our music wasn’t the biggest part of our lives.

I started to feel the sadness of music, the loneliness of it and I felt the pain of losing it, but I kept on living.

I always wanted to write songs about people, to tell stories, and I wanted to be someone that people could relate to, someone that they could listen to, a songwriter, because I’m just so happy to be able to be myself.
